Sofie Hooper
I’m Sofie, and I’ve spent my career in and around policy, research, and stakeholder engagement across the built environment and facilities management space. Most recently I took on the role of Deputy CEO at Association for Project Safety, where I help drive strategic development, outreach, and policy work that supports better competence, training, and safety across our sector.
Before that I was Head of Policy and Research at the Institute of Workplace and Facilities Management. I’ve spent over 15 years working on public affairs both in the UK and in Brussels, helping bring industry insight into policy conversations and working with professionals across the sector to elevate workplace and built environment practices.
I’m passionate about bringing people and perspectives together to solve real problems, whether that’s shaping building safety policy post-Grenfell, building sustainable partnerships, or encouraging collaboration across organisations.
Being part of the LGBT+ in FM committee is important to me because inclusion and representation make our workplaces and our industry stronger. I’m all about creating environments where people feel valued, heard, and equipped to contribute their best.
